Xiaomi-backed gaming company Black Shark launched its first gaming smartphone at an event held in Beijing, China. The smartphone packs flagship-level hardware, a sporty look and the ability to connect Shark GamePad controllers via Bluetooth to give a hard-core gaming experience.
Features and Specifications:
The gaming-centric smartphone comes with rounded corners along with matte-finished curved panels on the rear side that allows a comfortable grip. It features a 5.99-inch IPS FHD+ LCD (1080 x 2160 pixels) display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The handset is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with 6GB RAM/64GB of internal storage and 8GB RAM/128GB of inbuilt storage variants. It sports a 4,000mAh battery support for 18W 9V/2A fast charging. The battery can last up to 7 hours of steady hardcore gaming. The smartphone measures 161.62 x 75.4 x 9.25 mm and weighs 190 grams.
Being a gaming smartphone, the Black Shark features a multi-layered cooling system that includes high thermal conductivity copper alloy substrate, nano-composite graphite, heat pipe and liquid cooling which can bring down the operating temperature considerably resulting in smoother performance.
Black shark controller:
This controller features a joystick and a trigger button at the top. The controller lets you to customize controls and assign specific functions to the buttons. It costs 179 yuan (Rs 1,800), but one of these will be bundled with the phone.
JOY UI & camera
The handset runs on JOY UI, a customised gaming-focused Android Oreo ROM which borrows some core features from Xiaomi’s MIUI ROM. The device packs a 12MP+20MP dual-camera setup on the back and a 20MP front selfie camera powered by an independent image Pixelworks processor. The cameras contains PDAF, HDR, Panorama, Beaty mode, etc. The device has a dedicated Shark Key to access a dedicated gaming mode. The fingerprint scanner and home button at the bottom of the screen can also be turned off during gaming.
The Black Shark smartphone will ship in two color model, Polar Night and Sky Grey. It is now available for pre-order in China through Xiaomi Mall, Jingdong, and Mi Japan and will go on sale starting April 20.
The 6 GB RAM/64 GB storage variant of the Black Shark gaming smartphone has been priced around 2,999 Yuan (Rs 32,000 approx) while the 8 GB RAM/128 GB storage option will sell for 3,499 Yuan (Rs 37,000 approx). The Shark GamePad is optional and can be bought for 179 Yuan (Rs 2000 approx).
